The Myers Sparrow

The Sparrow is an electric car that’s available as both a one-door coupe and a two-door hatchback. Manufactured by Myers Motors in Tallmadge, Ohio, it’s a one passenger car designed for the commutes of city-dwellers. They’re also perfect if you like cars shaped like duck heads.

The Smart Fortwo

The Smart Fortwo is perhaps the world’s most popular “small car,” marketed in 46 countries on all the major continents. First introduced in 1998, the two-passenger, two-door city car has sold 1.7 million units so far. The car is roughly as wide as it is long, meaning that virtually any parking space is doable for this little guy.

The Peel P50

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Peel P50 is officially the tiniest car in the world. Originally manufactured from 1962 to 1965 on the Isle of Man by the Peel Engineering Company, they made a comeback in 2010 with electric versions you can still buy today. It’s only 54 inches long and 41 inches wide, and it’s so small it doesn’t have a reverse gear. Now that’s the definition of tiny.

The Buddy Cab is an electric car that comes from Norway, currently in its sixth generation. About 1,500 Buddy Cabs have been sold so far in its earlier generations—maybe more people will buy the sixth if they’re short enough to fit in it?

The Commuter Cars Tango

The Tango is a sleek and narrow electric sports car designed in Spokane, Washington. It’s less than 9 feet long but will still cost you about $108,000 to purchase. It comes with a celebrity endorsement, however: actor George Clooney was the very first customer to purchase the Tango in August of 2005.

The Reva G-Wiz

REVA is the world’s top electric car manufacturing company located in Bangalore, India, and the G-Wiz is a sporty city car that proves their mastery. You’ll have to go overseas to test drive one, though: currently, they’re unavailable to purchase in the United States.

The Pasquali Riscio

Pasquali Riscio’s can be found in abundance in Italy, where drivers don’t even need a license to legally operate it. They only go up to 25 miles per hour, though, so don’t plan on zipping anywhere too fast in them.

The Fuldamobil

The Fuldamobil series of tiny cars were made in Germany between 1950 and 1969. Nicknamed the “bubble car,” this particular vehicle is as small as it is rare: it’s estimated only 123 cars were ever manufactured.

The Vespa 400

Although this tiny car hasn’t been in production since 1961, it’s classic status warrants a spot on the list. Believe it or not, early models of the Vespa lacked roll-down windows to make the width of the doors thinner. With a tiny 400 cc engine, it weighed less than 900 pounds.

The Isetta

Another car that’s long been out of production, the Isetta was an Italian design popular in Europe throughout the 1950s and 60s. With only a single door in the front and its famous egg shape, it inspired many other bubble cars. Also, back in 1955, the Isetta could get almost 100 miles per gallon. Not bad at all.

The Lumeneo SMERA

The SMERA is a small battery electric vehicle that debuted at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. It’s technically a cross between an electric car and a scooter with a lithium ion battery pack, but was regulated in Europe with an official car classification. It could reach a maximum speed of 68 miles per hour, which apparently didn’t bode well with buyers: the company filed for bankruptcy in November 2013.

The Bolloré Bluecar

As far as tiny cars go, the Bolloré Bluecar is pretty large. Still, this four-seat electric car manufactured in Italy is pretty small by everyday standards. The car takes 6 hours to fully charge and can reach a maximum speed of 84 miles per hour. However, they’re only available to purchase in Europe.

The Ford Ka

Perhaps one of the most accessible small cars on the market today, the Ford Ka is a city car that has been manufactured by the motor company since 1996. Despite popular belief, the Ka is tinier than the Mini Cooper, with smaller height, length and width measurements. Many view the KA as a modern day Volkswagen Beetle.
