If you are looking at cars for anyone on your Christmas list, make sure to steer clear of this set; they have all received really bad reviews this year according to Forbes magazine. These cars could have potential, but have run into some dead ends with consumers. A car would be a nicer way to tell someone they have been naughty than a stocking of coal however.
Smart ForTwo

A two passenger mini car, with no back seat. On top of that it only runs on premium gas. It accelerates far too slowly to gain any momentum because of its tiny engine. Not to mention how easily it crushes in an accident. Steer clear of this one.
Scion iQ

Another small, two door Coupe, this one with a rear hatch. The small size provides for awkward seating that does not even accommodate four adults. It has poor acceleration, and a loud whistling noise that can be heard inside the car when driving.
Mitsubishi Mirage

The poor acceleration of this car is what puts it on the list. Consumer Reports ranks it low in just about every area tested. It is pretty plain and does not come with many extra amenities.
Mitsubishi iMiEV

The inside of this four door electric Sedan smaller than you would expect, with an awkward interior design to boot. It has little power for acceleration and has a max distance of only 60-65 miles on one charge. It takes far longer to charge than any other electric car in its class which does not help its reputation much.
Lincoln MKS

It has not been updated since 2009, and just doesn't live up to the expectations of luxury generally associated with Lincoln.
Jeep Wrangler

Although an American classic, the loud running noise is difficult to talk over. Comfort is not top notch either. However, if you are driving a Jeep, you are probably driving it for a reason.
Jeep Compass

Despite a completely redone exterior, the interior leaves a lot to be desired. Its small motor gives far too little power. In testing, it was said to run sluggishly. It is also rated low on value retention when being sold to other buyers.
Dodge Journey

This SUV has had the same body style for years and has not changed much at all. It has a small motor that accelerates slowly. It is said to have an outdated transmission, and is not rated well for reliability. Another area of complaint is that it does not ride smoothly and struggles when downshifting.
Mitsubishi Lancer

This car was at the very bottom of the list of cars rated. With its small wheels and less than appealing look, the car would be perfectly suited for that friend you want to passively aggressively get back at. The inside of the car looks cheap, and the seats don't move very well. Gas mileage leaves a lot to be desired and the transmission makes undesirable noises.
Suburu Tribeca

This car was rated the worst SUV overall. The inside is almost all plastic, and the car has not had an update in years. The third row is not all that roomy, making for a claustrophobic ride.
Honda Ridgeline

It was rated in 2013 as the worst of all small pickup trucks. The problem is, the body of the truck is built on a frame that is used for vans, which does not work for a pickup truck. It isn't built to withstand expected tasks of a truck like four-wheeling in the mud or riding over rough terrain. What's worse: it also struggles when towing, a base requirement for most pickups.
Kia Sedona

The Kia Sedona falls to the bottom of the list for minivans. It has the same body style and look that it did eight years ago. This van needs to be updated inside and out to be competitive with the others vans in its class. This van also struggles in regards to gas mileage.
Mercury Sable

The Mercury Sable is not known to be a reliable car. They are known for defective springs.
