
Car brands come and go. The vast majority of fizzled brands just fade off in to the unknown. No brand has faded off quite like East German manufacturer Wartburg. There is no talk of it ever coming back, and there’s not that many people who remember it actually existed.
The Wartburg 311 is the closest they came to producing a luxury car. The convertible was powered by a 900 cc two-stroke engine, which pumped out a minuscule 37 horsepower. Check out this video to see what it’s like to drive around in one of the “deadest” cars out there.
