The first thing you’ll notice about the new Chevy Silverado Special Ops concept is the naval-inspired camo finish. Its tri-tone blue color is accompanied by an array of lines and shapes that was historically used by Navy vessels to disguise the speed, direction, and profile of a ship. The Special Ops concept is based off the Silverado 1500 Z71, but that’s where the similarities stop.

This off-road ready concept features custom rocker guards and an underbody shield to protect against anything the terrain has to throw at it. As far as night excursions go, the bed-mounted sport bar comes lined with bright LED lights above an equally bright grille array to keep you going deep in to the darkness. While the exterior paint scheme is meant to be “undetected,” the interior is far from it. The door pulls and glove-box handle are painted a bright Ejector Orange. The seats are trimmed with waterproof covers and the floor boards are waterproofed, which essentially make this beast capable of handling any condition.
This truck is suited for everyday use, but it really makes for an ideal covert operation. We’re pretty confident that if Chevy puts these trucks in to production, consumers won’t be wearing camo while waiting in line. They will want to be seen by everyone.
