Tesla Motors is gaining more and more respect in the automotive industry for its innovative design and amazing performance, but they just raised the bar with the release of their newest car. The Model S P85D luxury sedan just went up against the rigorous Consumer Reports’ road test and achieved what no car has ever done before. EVER!
The Model S scored an unbelievable 103 out of a possible 100 points by Consumer Reports, proving that electric cars can hold their own with their gas-powered brethren. We are absolutely blown away by the blistering acceleration of an electric car from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. Add in the improved braking and handling over the previous S models, and it’s easy to see why it jumped off the charts for performance. Even with the high score though, Consumer Reports’ did have some negative remarks about the limited electric range of the car (only 270 miles), citing the lack of availability to charging stations could pose an issue. Consumer Report’s will be tweaking their rating scale after the scores of the S P85D, but until then — Tesla will be able to claim to be the only brand that broke the perfect 100 mark.
