The Lotus Elise Is Finally Coming Back To The U.S…. In 2020

Lotus has been noticeably quiet in the American market since withdrawing their Elise and Exige models in 2011 due to safety regulations, but fans of the automaker will be glad to hear that they will be back!

Eventually.

While Lotus does intend to comply with U.S. safety regulations, the changes necessary to make the current model street legal would be untenable. As a result, American customers will be waiting until the arrival of the next version… in 2020. While that does seem a long time to wait, we’re just glad to hear the Elise is coming back at all!
