Tesla has unveiled their highly anticipated CyberTruck and its unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Definitely not your dad’s Ford F-150, the retro-futuristic CyberTruck is probably more akin to a trapezoid on wheels or if they styled a pickup truck after Robocop. Instead of a separate cab and bed frame, this truck has a unibody exoskeleton which is just as high tech as it sounds since the truck is plated and reinforced with the same steel alloy used on SpaceX rockets. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, this allows the truck to be virtually “bulletproof” to small caliber handguns.
Musk and spectators at the Tesla Design Studio Demo in California were disappointed though as they watched a Tesla rep pick up a steel ball, chuck it at the CyberTruck, and shatter its "unbreakable" windows during a demo.
Ouch.

“Maybe that was a little too hard,” Musk said uncomfortably, “But at least it didn’t go through.”

But say you’re not exactly in the need for a bulletproof truck and just wants something that can haul, then the all electric CyberTruck boasts some impressive stats. Musk makes striking claims that his truck will be able to outperform the latest Ford F-150 in terms of towing, and be as nimble as a Porsche 911 on the roadway. The most expensive version of the truck, the Tri Motor All-Wheel-Drive is said to carry 3,500 pounds, tow another 14,000 and take off from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds. The Tri Motor package has a range of 500 miles and will retail for $69,000, while the base models will have a range of 250 miles and a more reasonable price of $39,000.
If such statements are true then auto buyers may be able to look past the CyberTruck’s retro stylings for its impressive performance. The truck is expected to hit full production in 2021.
