Brush fires have a wickedly intimidating, low-flying rival that firemen can’t help but whip out their cameras for. This DC-10 “Tanker 911” was captured dropping fire retardant onto terrain only hundreds of feet below the aircraft — which is what the plane was meant to do in the first place!

This video shows just how ridiculously low this plane can go before its stilled pilot yanks it’s nose up in what seems like the final few seconds before an inevitable crash.
