Kent Broyhill graduated from the University of Nebraska back in 1974, but he left something behind when he stepped of the Lincoln campus all the years ago — a parking ticket! Now, 40 years later, Broyhill finally sent the campus the $100 fine that they were wanting, although he wasn’t trying to scam the university all those years ago. He states that he tried to pay the fine when he received it, but the university only accepted cash, which he had none on him when he was cited. So as the honorable man that he is, Broyhill sent the university a check with a note that explained his situation. And in a classy move, the university sent the check back to him and thanked him for the act.
Now, we aren’t saying to use his excuse to try and get out of paying your campus tickets, but it never hurts to try!
